The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the AutoZone MIT program, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in the overall operation of the store, including:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Satisfactory performance and consistent progress are required to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.
