The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team.
MITs will complete operations and management training, learn about AutoZone's culture, and demonstrate performance and progression to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings.
