The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT maintains an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing training and learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. They must maintain satisfactory performance and demonstrate progression to remain in the training pipeline and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
