The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the AutoZone MIT program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance under the supervision of the Store Manager. Responsibilities include:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Satisfactory performance and progression through training are required to remain in the pipeline and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
