The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT maintains an engaged team and supports store operations, including:

• Store management and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs complete operations and management training, learning about AutoZone's culture and key business aspects. Performance and progression are essential for continued participation and promotion consideration.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work flexible full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Automotive experience preferred but not required
• Experience with analyzing financials, including P&L statements, preferred but not required
