The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a management team member, an MIT is expected to:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support the Store Manager in store operations, including:

• Retail and commercial management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs must complete operational and management training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a retail manager or supervisor
• Ability to work flexible full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Previous automotive or financial analysis experience is a plus but not required
