The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership, initiative, and leading by example.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing operational and management training, learning key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are monitored to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
