The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare individuals for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, promotion to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a member of management, an MIT will:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support overall store operations including management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Oversee inventory management
• Lead customer service initiatives

MITs are also responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, and learning about AutoZone’s culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
• Previous automotive experience and financial analysis skills are preferred but not mandatory
