The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team. Responsibilities include:

• Store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including managing and analyzing monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs are also responsible for completing training and learning about the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are necessary to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
