The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management within approximately 8-12 weeks is possible, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to live the pledge, deliver WOW! customer service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will:

• Support overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage and analyze financials, including P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Oversee inventory management
• Lead customer service efforts

MITs are also responsible for completing training and learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are monitored, and promotion depends on various factors including performance and management openings.

Note: Promotion to management is not guaranteed and depends on multiple factors.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience preferred but not required
