The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that offers work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to live the pledge, deliver WOW! customer service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead and maintain an engaged, productive team by demonstrating strong leadership and initiative.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in the overall store operations, including:

• Management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs are also responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, and learning about AutoZone's culture. Performance and progress are essential for continued participation and potential promotion.

Note: Promotion to management is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are preferred but not required
