The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion to Retail/Commercial Store Management. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
As a management team member, an MIT is expected to live the company pledge, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead and maintain an engaged team, demonstrating initiative and leadership.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs will complete operational and management training, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance must be satisfactory with demonstrated progression to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on various factors including performance and availability.
