The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role providing work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to demonstrate leadership, deliver excellent customer service, and drive store performance. Under supervision, the MIT will support the store's overall operation, including:

• Management and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing P&L statements
• Staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs will complete operational and management training and learn about AutoZone's culture. Performance and progression are essential for continued consideration for management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not mandatory
