The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Depending on prior experience and performance, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks from entry into the program.
As a member of the management team, an MIT is expected to embody the company's values, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead and maintain an engaged, productive team by demonstrating strong leadership and initiative.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in the overall operation of the store, including:
MITs are responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, learning about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Satisfactory performance and consistent progress are required to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available opportunities.
