The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on performance and experience.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead the store team, demonstrating initiative and leadership.

• Manage store operations, policies, and supervision
• Handle financial management, including analyzing P&L statements
• Oversee staffing, training, and development
• Manage inventory and customer service

MITs must complete operational and management training, learning about AutoZone's culture and business. Performance and progression are key to remaining in the program and advancing to management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years retail management or supervisory experience
• Flexible full-time schedule, including weekends and overtime
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not mandatory
