The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management promotion within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the management team, live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
• Manage inventory and lead customer service efforts.

MITs are responsible for completing operational and management training, learning about AutoZone culture, and demonstrating consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required.
