The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to provide work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Typically, progression to a management role can occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team and support store operations, including:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are essential to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Selection for the MIT position does not guarantee promotion; promotion depends on performance and management availability.
