The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the MIT program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership and initiative.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
