Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.
In this role, you'll lead and scale a high-performing team of TPMs responsible for the physical backbone of a novel computing platform. Your team will own the end-to-end hardware/system New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle for space-ready Google TPU enclosures and related systems.
You'll partner with engineering managers and cross-functional leads across Electrical Engineering, Thermal/Mechanical Design, and Software. You'll be responsible for bringing operational excellence, transparent milestone delivery, and strategic leadership to complex infrastructure initiatives. You'll define program structure in a novel environment, guiding a team through rapid prototyping, and driving the rigorous testing required to make hardware operate in environments it wasn't originally designed for. You'll be expected to establish portfolio governance standards and mentor executive/staff-level TPMs as the project progresses.
