Job summary

Jobgether SRL seeks an experienced Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting for a fully remote role based in the United States. You will own key areas of monthly and quarterly close, lead equity and compensation accounting, and drive technical memos, policies, and disclosures with a focus on AI-assisted process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 5 years of progressive experience in technical accounting or corporate controllership; Big 4 preferred.
• Broad knowledge of U.S. GAAP topics including revenue, leases, equity, and disclosures.
• Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and rollforwards.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP; close-management tools and equity administration systems.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting based in United States.

This fully remote role sits within the Controllership function and combines technical accounting expertise with hands-on corporate accounting operations.

You will own key areas of the monthly and quarterly close while providing guidance on complex U.S. GAAP matters.

The role has broad exposure across financial reporting, equity accounting, technical memos, audits, controls, and accounting policies.

You will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to translate accounting conclusions into scalable operational processes.

A major focus will be modernizing the close through process improvement, automation, and the thoughtful use of AI tools.

Reporting to the Assistant Global Controller, you will help strengthen the technical and operational foundation of the accounting organization.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to combine analytical judgment, ownership, and process innovation in a distributed environment.

Accountabilities:

• Financial Reporting & Close: Own financial reporting preparation, including the statement of cash flows, during monthly and quarterly closes, while supporting journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and other close activities.
• Equity & Compensation Accounting: Own accounting for equity and other compensation awards, partnering with Equity Administration to ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.
• Technical Accounting: Lead the resolution of complex technical accounting matters and ensure conclusions are translated into technical memos, accounting policies, journal entries, financial statement presentation, disclosures, reconciliations, and documented processes.
• Audit Management: Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, coordinating PBC requests, preparing memorandums, drafting financial statements and footnotes, and completing required tie-outs.
• U.S. GAAP Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP topics, including classification, measurement, presentation, disclosure, and recurring close requirements.
• Accounting Policies & Standards: Maintain accounting policies and technical memorandums while monitoring emerging accounting standards and translating new guidance into implementation plans, disclosures, reporting calendars, and scalable processes.
• Financial Analysis: Perform monthly flux and variance analysis, identifying material movements and clearly communicating explanations to Finance leadership.
• Process & AI Optimization: Apply tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI solutions to streamline technical accounting workflows, automate recurring activities, and accelerate the close.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations teams on new initiatives and broader Finance-related needs.

Requirements

• Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience, with an active CPA license required.
• Professional Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting; Big 4 or national accounting firm experience is strongly preferred.
• U.S. GAAP Expertise: Broad knowledge of revenue, leases, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity or multi-currency structures.
• Equity Accounting: Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.
• Systems Proficiency: Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms, close management tools such as FloQast or Numeric, and equity administration systems such as Carta or Slice.
• Technical Documentation: Proven ability to draft and review audit-ready technical accounting memorandums, apply conclusions to recurring operations, work constructively with external auditors, and support conclusions with evidence, economic substance, and authoritative guidance.
• End-to-End Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of how technical accounting decisions flow through journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, significant estimates, and external reporting.
• Excel & Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, including comfort working with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
• AI & Automation: Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar solutions within accounting workflows is preferred.
• Personal Effectiveness: Strong attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, ownership, self-motivation, and the ability to reconcile and resolve discrepancies while managing competing priorities.
