Position Specification

The Manager of Talent Sourcing will be a strategic and innovative leader responsible for shaping Essentia Health’s (EH) system-wide sourcing strategies. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Talent Management, and indirectly to the Director of Talent Acquisition and Director of Physician and Provider Recruitment, this leader will design and implement scalable, sustainable approaches that not only meet immediate workforce needs but also build long-term pipelines to support Essentia’s growth and mission.

The Manager will serve as both a strategist and an advisor, employing creativity, data-driven insights, and market intelligence to expand workforce pipelines, connect with diverse and untapped talent pools, and foster authentic partnerships across the organization and with external stakeholders.

Essentia Health seeks a dynamic Manager of Talent Sourcing to redefine how we identify, engage, and cultivate talent. This is more than a sourcing role; it is an opportunity to transform Essentia’s approach to workforce development through innovative programs, partnerships, and insights.

As a talent advisor, the Manager will:

  • Develop and Execute Innovative Strategies: Lead the design and delivery of sourcing programs that create sustainable pipelines across diverse workforce segments, including undergraduate and graduate medical education programs.

  • Leverage Data and Analytics: Use metrics and market intelligence to measure program effectiveness, evaluate competitiveness, and drive strategic decision-making.

  • Expand Access to Talent: Connect Essentia with underrepresented and untapped workforce populations, broadening the organization’s reach and impact.

  • Serve as a Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to HR leadership and internal stakeholders, translating organizational goals into actionable sourcing strategies.

  • Lead and Develop the Team: Manage all aspects of departmental performance, including setting goals, coaching, development, and accountability

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, implement, and continuously improve sourcing strategies that align with Essentia’s workforce needs and growth objectives.

  • Partner with educational institutions, workforce development programs, and community organizations to build robust talent pipelines.

  • Develop success metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess effectiveness of sourcing initiatives.

  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to HR and organizational leadership.

  • Establish Essentia Health as an employer of choice by connecting with diverse and multicultural talent pools.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience and Knowledge
  • Minimum of five years of experience in talent sourcing, talent acquisition, HR, or related fields.

  • Proven ability to design and implement sourcing strategies that drive measurable results.

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated success in oversight and execution.

  • Experience working with highly diverse and multicultural populations.

  • Track record of building authentic partnerships with leaders and influencing at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly, challenge assumptions respectfully, and build consensus.

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform strategy.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications
  • Professional certification in HR or talent acquisition (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, AAPPR) is a plus.
