Job Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to join our Small Form Factor and F-22 Communications (SF3C) Engineering Department based in San Diego, CA. This role involves developing communication systems supporting various national defense missions, emphasizing innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide guidance and leadership to direct report employees, including staffing, training, performance reviews, and career development.
  2. Support technical programs directly (approximately 80%) across digital, RF, embedded software, or system engineering disciplines.
  3. Foster a collaborative, transparent, and team-oriented environment focused on empowerment and shared responsibility.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with relevant experience in digital, RF, embedded software, or systems engineering.
  • BA + 8 years or MA + 6 years of experience.
  • Experience managing teams or IPT leadership.
  • Ability to facilitate conflict resolution and understand specific engineering disciplines.
  • Must obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance; interim clearance required to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in VHDL/Verilog, embedded software, hardware design, or systems engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and experience managing teams across different levels.
  • Experience with real-time embedded communication systems and DoD communication systems, including software-defined radios.
  • Active DoD secret clearance.
Additional Information

Salary Range: $156,500 - $195,600. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and PTO. The application review period is approximately 20 days, subject to change.
