Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Manager, System Planning - Gas in Houston, TX to lead the System Planning function for hydraulic modeling and design of pipeline projects and firm transportation capacity determination.

You will manage a team of planning engineers, align outputs with business objectives, and collaborate across Project Development, Execution, Operations, and Commercial teams to deliver high‑quality scope and decision support while upholding safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Engineering designation is preferred.

  • Oversee system planning solutions that support major capital decisions and ensure alignment with technical, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Partner with Project Development, Execution, Operations, and Commercial teams, translating technical analysis into business insights for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through talent development, succession planning, and a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and enhance system planning standards, processes, and tools to drive consistency, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Professional Engineering designation (preferred)

In this role, you will provide leadership, technical oversight, and strategic direction for the System Planning function — responsible for hydraulic modeling and system design of pipeline and facility projects, as well as firm transportation capacity determination, management, and posting.

You will ensure the development of optimized, competitive, and reliable system plans that balance safety, cost, schedule, and operational performance. You will lead a team of planning engineers and subject matter experts, aligning planning outputs with business objectives while collaborating across Project Development, Execution, Operations, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality project scope and decision support.

What You Will Do
  • Lead System Planning strategy, priorities, and resources to deliver business objectives across regions and projects.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Engineering designation is preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience in pipeline/system planning, hydraulic modeling, or design.
  • Understanding of Gas Transmission Midstream (GTM) system and how it operates.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, system modeling, and design principles.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development capability.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
Working Conditions
  • Office environment with collaboration across multiple project teams.
  • Frequent travel (~20%) is required for field visits, other offices, conferences and team events. Ability to travel throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.
  • Deadline‑driven environment with multiple competing priorities.
Physical Requirements

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short‑term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary
  • Ranges from $145,000 - $190,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
