Job Summary And Qualifications

As the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services you will be responsible for assisting the Director with the planning, administering, and evaluating the operations of the Operating Room. We are looking for someone who has a passion for creating an environment focused on providing excellent care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Model and sustain patient and family centered care while directly supporting staff as they care for patients and educate families.
  • Share accountability for the standards and scope of nursing practice within the unit.
  • Collaborate with the Director on department staffing, including hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
  • Develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospital’s vision.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
  • Coordinate functions with staff, physicians, and other hospital departments with a focus on throughput based on patient needs.
Qualifications
  • Current Utah nursing license in good standing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • CNOR required or obtained within twelve months of hire.
  • Two years clinical experience in the operating room required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous sterile experience preferred.
