Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA seeks an experienced Supply Chain Inventory Manager to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, movement of products between locations, and accuracy of stock to meet patient care needs.

You will lead inventory staff, implement processes to reduce shrinkage, manage expiration dates, and coordinate with departments to prevent shortages while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or health-related field; degree waived with 3+ years healthcare inventory experience.
• Minimum 2 years in inventory management; 1 year in healthcare setting; 1 year with a healthcare ERP system.

Job description

The Supply Chain Inventory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouses including product movement between asset locations, reconciling order discrepancies from departments, implementing processes and procedures to prevent shortages and shrinkage, managing expiration dates, managing inventory personnel, and ensuring there is adequate stock to meet daily patient needs and support regulatory compliance. This position reports to department leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trains and schedules Inventory Management staff.
• Monitors and improves metrics, including but not limited to pick accuracy, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment to departments.
• Ensures all equipment meets safe operating requirements and maintains regulatory logs.
• Performs monthly audits of staff orders.
• Ensures inventory accuracy.
• Evaluates and optimizes inventory levels based on criteria established by department leadership while managing location changes and optimizing warehouse space.
• Optimizes Supply Chain efficiency directly in support of patient care.
• Assists with backorder/substitute processes with physical inventory assessments/changes.
• Reduces errors and establishes processes to improve traceability.
• Leads, manages, coaches, and trains a team or department, provides guidance, support, and mentors to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
• Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or health related field required; Degree requirement may be waived if candidate has 3 or more years of progressive inventory management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory management required.
• Minimum 1 year inventory management experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Minimum 1-year experience with a healthcare ERP system required.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple, time sensitive and urgent projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication and skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Warehouse environment with exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
