Job summary

KPMG LLP in McLean, VA is seeking a Manager to join our Structured Finance practice. You will review credit payments and loan documentation, prepare reports, and support client deliverables for securitization transactions.

You will lead engagement teams on CMBS, CLOs, CDOs, MBS and ABS, perform due diligence on CRE assets, manage budgets, onboard clients, and travel as needed to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Five years+ of experience in financial audit or corporate accounting at a public accounting firm or large multinational.
• CPA or CPA equivalent is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting issues, or related areas.
• Ability to connect with senior executives to generate new business.
• Proven leadership of diverse teams and travel willingness.

Job description

KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Structured Finance practice.

Responsibilities

• Review credit payments and whole loan documentation to verify accuracy; prepare client deliverables (agreed-upon procedures report) and working papers supporting our findings
• Operate on engagements related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO), collateralized debt obligation (CDO), mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS)
• Lead engagement teams performing due diligence procedures related to real estate securitizations of various securities collateralized by mortgages and leases on all types of CRE assets
• Perform compliance testing related to client agreements with investment banks, issuers, regulators, government agencies, and investors
• Interact with clients and team members to achieve engagement objectives as well as, execute against engagement work programs developed by managers and directors
• Accountable for managing and staffing deal workflow to team members, creating and maintaining budgets, onboarding clients, preparing various documentation and final deliverables internally and to clients

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of recent experience with a public accounting firm, advisory services firm or a large multinational organization conducting financial audit or corporate accounting
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field; licensed CPA or CPA equivalent required
• Strong current knowledge in one of the following: U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), international financial reporting standards (IFRS), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) financial reporting issues, bankruptcies, business combinations or financial restatements
• Demonstrated ability to connect with senior executives of leading organizations to generate new business relationships and projects
• Proven capability to lead teams of employees comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
• Willingness and ability to travel
