Job summary

NAPA, a leading automotive aftermarket company, seeks a Manager, Strategy, US to shape the strategic direction and drive execution with the ELT, Finance, and cross-functional leaders. The role focuses on translating strategy into measurable actions and outcomes across short- and long-term horizons.

You will manage planning, develop scenarios, build business cases, and align initiatives with NAPA Transformation, KPIs, and enterprise priorities. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate strategy, transformation, or related roles.
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel/PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience supporting executive-level strategic planning processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of your time.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to shape strategic priorities and 1–5 year roadmap.
  • Manage the annual strategic planning process and ensure cross-functional alignment across functions.
  • Build data-backed business cases with scenario modeling for transformation projects.
  • Develop KPIs and ensure accountability across initiatives and functions.
  • Provide advisory support for QBRs, Board materials, and executive presentations.

Job SummaryThe Manager, Strategy, US plays a critical role in shaping and advancing the strategic direction of NAPA’s US business. This role partners closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Finance, and cross-functional leaders to define priorities, support the NAPA Transformation mandate, and translate strategy into real actions and measurable business outcomes.The Manager will combine structured strategic thinking, rigorous analysis, and strong collaboration to drive clarity, alignment, and execution across short- and long-term horizons.ResponsibilitiesStrategic PlanningPartner with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to shape and refine NAPA’s strategic prioritiesManage the annual strategic planning process, ensuring alignment across functions and maintain the 1-year to 5-year strategic roadmap, including clear enterprise priorities and transformation outcomesCollaborate closely with the FP&A team to align financial plans with strategic objectivesEnsure strategy is effectively translated into executable initiatives with defined KPIs and accountabilityLink enterprise strategy with the NAPA Transformation mandate to ensure cohesive executionStrategy DevelopmentDefine how and where NAPA will win, including competitive positioning, growth platforms, and value creation leversPerform external, competitive, market, and economic analysis to inform strategic directionAssess industry trends, customer behaviors, and macroeconomic factors impacting the automotive aftermarket and NAPASynthesize complex data into actionable insights for leadership decision-makingDevelop scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to guide risk-informed strategy developmentBuild comprehensive, data-backed business cases to support NAPA’s transformation mandate, including modeling, analysis, and risk assessmentsEstablish clear direction, vision, plans and success criteria for complex, ambiguous, and multi-pronged opportunitiesDevelop structured strategic plans for major enterprise transformational, growth and optimization opportunities, aligned with NAPA’s strategyAdvisory & SupportServe as a trusted strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leadersProvide cross-functional support for high-impact deliverables, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Board materials, and executive presentationsPartner across Sales, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and HR to align strategies; support NAPA’s ELT with strategy development among their functions and teams.Facilitate structured problem-solving sessions and alignment workshopsShare best practices with, and learn from, the Canada automotive strategy team to drive global outcomes and efficienciesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.; MBA or advanced degree is preferred5–8 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, transformation, or related analytical rolesExperience supporting executive-level strategic planning processesExperience developing structured strategies, strategic plans and strategy frameworksExperience managing direct report(s) and influencing without authorityStrong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, and communication skillsAbility to travel up to 10% of your timeAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience in Retail or Logistics is preferredPhysical Demands / Working EnvironmentWork performed in a typical office environment.Not the right fit?
