As part of the new Global Legal & Compliance (GL&C) Strategy, Intelligence & Integration team (SII), the Strategy & Operations leader will strengthen alignment between GL&C’s internal Legal practice groups and enterprise-wide priorities, drive enterprise-level prioritization governance and enable strong expense and investment stewardship to inform key department trade‑off decisions and measurable execution of GL&C’s 2030 roadmap.
The role sits within the SII department and reports to the GL&C Chief Strategy and Integration Officer, with close partnership across the GL&C Leadership Team, including the Performance & Execution Team Leader, and peer SII leadership team members (i.e., the GL&C Data Officer and the GL&C Learning and Development leader).
The Strategy and Operations leader functions as a strategic and consultative leader responsible for partnering across the Global Legal and Compliance (GL&C) organization to ensure strategic resources are allocated to the highest priorities and is responsible for developing strategic talent and driving consistency in how and when the strategy team is utilized for planning, prioritizing and leading/implementing strategic programs and priorities.
This leader will partners closely with all GL&C practice group leaders and their leadership teams. The Strategy and Operations leader will share ownership in the successful execution of GL&C 2030 strategic priorities and roadmap and all enterprise-wise critical projects at the highest level, contributing to the long‑term success of the corporate function and the enterprise.
This role leads five Strategic Alignment Partner roles – three embedded at practice group and business unit leadership tables to translate GL&C priorities into practice‑group context and flag execution gaps early, and two focused on GL&C‑wide prioritization and strategy. The Strategy and Operations leader will also lead GL&C’s Executive Administration Team. Building on existing expense and investment stewardship responsibilities, the role carries new accountability for 2030 roadmap execution and global integration, ensuring GL&C's $60M productivity commitment is delivered rather than left to interpretation. The leader also works closely with the newly formed GL&C Performance and Execution (P&E) Team and Data Officer to establish one consistent set of metrics and benchmarking across practice groups.
