Job summary

Ross Stores currently seeks a Manager of Store Fixture Installations and Capital Projects in the Dublin, CA area. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Project Leads and Coordinators to complete planning, installation, vendor management, and communication on time and on budget.
  • Ensure project planning tools, reporting, and schedules are executed; identify and fix issues early.
  • Coordinate with Store Planning and Design, Construction, Property Development, Loss Prevention, IT, and Store Leadership teams.
  • Manage the bid process: select vendors, qualify bids, analyze pricing, award contracts.
  • Develop annual store capital budgets; forecast monthly spend and secure funding as needed.
  • Travel to Ross and dd's stores to oversee fixtures and project execution.
  • Serve as main contact for Field on fixture installations and capital projects.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Manager of Store Fixture Installations and Capital Projects is responsible for leading a team of Project Leads and Coordinators in the planning and execution of store fixture installation projects and capital projects.

This role leads the coordination of planning and execution activities with multiple cross-functional business partners, fixture and installation vendors, and store leadership teams in order to ensure all fixture installation and capital projects are executed on time, on budget, with minimal errors and go-backs, and with a high level of customer service to Stores. This role also leads the ongoing management of all installation vendors, sourcing and training of new vendors, and approvals of capital and expense budgets and monthly project financial forecasts.

The Manager of Store Fixture Installations and Capital Projects is responsible for driving results through strong communication, planning, organization, prioritization, analysis and judgment, cross-functional collaboration, vendor management, and developing high performance teams.

The base salary range for this role is $96,700 - $146,050. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Is responsible for leading a team of Project Leads and Coordinators and ensuring all project planning, fixture installation, vendor management, and store communication activities are completed in time on all store fixture installations and capital projects with minimal errors and go-backs, and on budget
  • Ensures all project planning tools, reporting, and schedules are executed as planned, issues are identified and fixed early, and processes are designed to minimize shortages, go-backs, and provide high level of customer service to Stores
  • Responsible for coordinating with multiple vendors, cross-functional business partners (including Store Planning and Design, Construction, Property Development, Loss Prevention, IT, and Janitorial Services), and Store Leadership teams (i.e., Store Managers, District Managers and Zone Directors) to ensure the timely and accurate execution of all fixture installations and capital projects
  • Manages all aspects of the project bid process by choosing vendors for bidding, qualifying each bid, analyzing pricing, and awarding contracts
  • Leads the development of annual store capital budgets, approves monthly forecasts, and secures funding as needed for unanticipated projects and fixture needs; works with Finance to provide ad-hoc analysis on project spend as required
  • Travels to Ross and dd's discounts stores to oversee quality and delivery of fixtures, installation, and overall project execution
  • Acts as main point of contact for the Field on all fixture installations and capital projects, and provides ongoing statuses on project planning and execution
  • Responsible for the ongoing development, engagement, and performance management of Project Leads and Coordinators
  • Leads the sourcing and training of all installation vendors; works with Strategic sourcing to drive RFPs and develop contracts and SOWs; manages the ongoing performance of installation vendors and makes recommendations on whether to keep or terminate vendor relationships based on performance
  • Signs off on communication and communication plans to Stores during all fixture installations and capital projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership and project management experience, preferably in a retail setting
