POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for an Investor Relations Stewardship Manager that serves as the lead owner of investor stewardship execution for Come Near's Investor Relations team. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Engagement, this person owns the stewardship architecture across the full investor portfolio.

We're looking for someone who builds and holds systems, thinks relationally, and operates with the discretion that principal-level relationships require. This person ensures the Investor Relations team delivers exceptional stewardship at every level of the portfolio — bringing creativity, initiative, and a relational instinct that keeps every investor feeling seen, valued, and deeply connected to the mission.

Above everything else, this role exists to do three things well: build and hold a stewardship system that runs reliably across the full portfolio; personally steward the Visionary Investor Family and our highest-capacity investors; and ensure that every touchpoint — from the first welcome to the year-end gratitude call — lands with warmth, consistency, and care. Everything below serves those three.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

STEWARDSHIP EXECUTION & ENGAGEMENT:

The Stewardship Manager creates the vision and execution of Come Near's investor stewardship program, overseeing both the systems that make consistent care possible, and the individual-level attention that high-capacity relationships require.

  • Lead vision and execution of stewardship strategies and engagement plans established together with the Director of Philanthropic Engagement.
  • Own and continuously improve the stewardship infrastructure across the full investor portfolio — developing and executing personalized plans for each investor relationship, with consistent, excellent touchpoints at every stage.
  • Own and execute stewardship operations, including acknowledgment letters, stewardship mailings, gift and recognition package management.
  • Collaborate with the Investor Relations team on investor gatherings, and high-impact cultivation moments — directing stewardship coordination before, during, and after each event.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen investor engagement and surface relational insights that inform stewardship strategy.
  • Lead the execution of stewardship plans for Come Near's Visionary Investor Family, working closely with the Director of Philanthropic Engagement and Chief Investor Relations Officer to ensure touchpoints are personalized, consistent, and delivered on schedule — including intentional engagement with the next generation of the family.
  • Own prayer touchpoints and prayer-request tracking and follow-up as part of the stewardship rhythm, ensuring no investor’s shared request is forgotten.
  • Coordinate the sourcing, production, and delivery of stewardship gifts and bespoke experience materials in partnership with Creative — ensuring each one feels personal and distinctly Come Near.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION:

This role operates across Come Near's organization to translate the work of every team into investor-facing stewardship. Key cross-functional partnerships include:

  • Creative & Communications — Coordinating investor-facing content and advising on tone, relational context, and investor-specific messaging.
  • Research & Impact — Translating mission data and content effectiveness into compelling investor narratives.
  • Finance & Operations —Ensure the gift acknowledgment experience runs reliably and on time — including IRS and DAF acknowledgment letters — and coordinating tracking and reporting.
  • Product & Content — Connecting investor stewardship to the neighbor-facing work being built, so investors can see the tangible output of their generosity.

INVESTOR ENGAGEMENT COORDINATION:

As Come Near engages high-capacity investors through a variety of intimate and high-impact settings, the Stewardship Manager ensures relational continuity and stewardship excellence at every touchpoint.

  • Manage preparation, logistics, and follow-up for investor calls and touchpoints with high-capacity partners, working closely with the Directors of Donor Investment and the Chief Investor Relations Officer.
  • Support investor-hosted gatherings, and cultivation events — partnering with Directors of Donor Investment on pre- and post-event stewardship and follow-up.
  • Coordinate stewardship before, during, and after high-impact meetings, events and tentpole moments to maintain relational continuity.
  • Ensure investor-facing impact reporting is accurate, current, and coordinated across internal teams.

COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY & STEWARDSHIP CONTENT:

Working in close partnership with the Director of Philanthropic Engagement, the Stewardship Manager leads investor-facing communication stewardship — bringing relational context, investor-specific knowledge, and stewardship expertise to every piece of communication to ensure it reflects the individual investor and advances the relationship.

  • Review investor-facing communications for relational accuracy — advising on tone, context, and individual investor history before distribution — in close partnership with the Director of Philanthropic Engagement.
  • Translate organizational milestones and mission outcomes into investor-facing stories that reinforce partnership and trust.
  • Manage the stewardship content calendar, ensuring communications are timely, consistent, and aligned with the overall investor engagement strategy.

CRM & STEWARDSHIP DATA:

The Stewardship Manager partners closely with the Prospect & CRM Manager to ensure the engagement record for every investor is current, complete, and actively informing stewardship decisions.

  • Partner with the Prospect & CRM Manager to ensure all investor engagement activity is accurately documented, and stewardship records are current and complete.
  • Leverage investor engagement data to inform stewardship planning, identify at-risk relationships, and surface opportunities for deeper connection.
  • Prepare regular stewardship activity updates and engagement summaries for IR leadership.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development, major gift stewardship, philanthropic relationship management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience of stewarding principal-level or high-capacity investor relationships, with a track record of building trust over long cultivation arcs.
  • Strong understanding of transformational philanthropy, including multi-year commitments, family foundation relationships, and generational giving.
  • Exceptional organizational and systems-building ability — this role requires someone who can build stewardship infrastructure and hold it with consistent excellence.
  • Strong written communication skills and editorial judgment; able to advise on investor-facing content and ensure it reflects the relational voice and context of each relationship.
  • Proven cross-functional collaborator, comfortable working across teams.
  • High degree of discretion and professional maturity when handling confidential investor relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a diverse investor portfolio in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

A personal relationship with Jesus and a passion for Come Near’s mission. A heart for service, humility, and collaborative leadership. An initiative-taking, meticulous approach to planning and execution
