Job summary

Dignity Health's St. Bernardine Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Sterile Processing to lead the Central Sterilization department.

You will guide the preparation and sterilization of instrumentation, supervise cart maintenance, and ensure quality assurance across the Outpatient Surgery Center and L&D. You will also develop and implement departmental policies, hire and train staff, and conduct ongoing training sessions.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years acute care Hospital experience required.
• Three (3) years managerial experience directly related to Sterile Processing required.
• HSPA Certified and Registered Central Service Technician Certification (CRCST), or CBSPD Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor (CSPDS), or CBSPD Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) required.
• HSPA Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational objectives of the Central Sterilization department and provide management in preparation and sterilization of instrumentation and packs.
• Maintain and supervise CPR carts and equipment prepared and dispensed through the department.
• Ensure sterilization quality assurance in the Outpatient Surgery Center and L&D and other departments using sterilized products; develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
• Interview, hire and train Sterile Processing staff; conduct staff meetings and inservice trainings.

Your oversight will also include the sterilization quality assurance performed in the Outpatient Surgery Center and in the L&D department as well as other departments using hospital sterilized products.

You will interview and hire staff for Sterile Processing, observe employees during the orientation program and monitor progress, and you will also conduct staff meetings and inservice trainings. Job Requirements

Required Experience

• Five (5) years acute care Hospital experience required.
