Description

SUMMARY

Administers all aspects of AMPP's standards development operations. Provides support to members and operations staff for AMPP standards committees, joint committees, and ISO TAGS in the development and publication of standards, guides, and technical reports. Coordinates with the department director, Technical Engagement team, and other staff teams to expand AMPP's technical programs, products, and services. Ensures the production of technical standards that are relevant to industry and meet the goals of AMPP. Ensures optimal processes, appropriate tools, and positive user experience for committee volunteers. Assists in managing standards-related products, content, contracts, and partnership agreements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and manages the standards team's use of operational and informational systems including AMS, collaboration platforms, CMS, virtual meeting applications, and others.
  • Maintains knowledge of standards development best practices and manages the ANSI accreditation process to ensure compliance and accreditation maintenance.
  • Manages the Standards Operations staff, including work allocation, hiring, training, coaching, and oversight.
  • Consults with the technical engagement team on committee activities, standards development roadmaps, and member feedback.
  • Manages expenses within assigned cost centers related to committee activities.
  • Oversees pricing, updates, and data management in the content platform and with third-party resellers.
  • Hires, supervises, and assigns work to consultants when appropriate.
  • Develops and communicates procedures, policies, and processes for standards committees.
  • Prepares and updates work instructions and processes for committees and staff.
  • Manages training for staff and technical committees.
  • Oversees formatting and publication of standards.
  • Manages inventory of physical products.
  • Supports staff with administrative tasks related to standards development.
  • Maintains information and updates on the AMPP website.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs managerial responsibilities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and addressing employee issues in accordance with organizational policies and laws.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

10 to 15% travel expected; passport required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience leading teams or volunteer committees.
  • Experience organizing and prioritizing projects.
  • Experience with standards development organizations, ISO, or ANSI requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interpret technical and business documents. Effective public speaking and presentation skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic calculations, interpret business graphs, and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Personnel management skills, proficiency with computer tools, and ability to manage multiple projects. Strong communication and organizational skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regular use of hands, sitting, occasional standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, color, and focus adjustments.
