Qualifications

• Degree in Sports Management or related field and/or 3+ years experience in an operations role for a professional sports team.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical and plumbing operations.
• High attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
• Experience managing events in a sports or entertainment facility preferred.
• Flexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administrative and managerial oversight of the department: Implementing a comprehensive maintenance program to operate the ballpark at professional standards.
• Ensuring stadium and team assets remain in ideal working condition and budgeting to replace items near end of lifespan.
• Delivering a clean, safe environment for fans, staff, and players.
• Coordinating inspections and maintenance contracts as needed (fire suppression, fire extinguishers, security, etc.).
• Pre-event stadium preparation for all games and events; ongoing year-round cleaning and winterization.
• Oversight of parking operations and personnel.
• Coordinate with City, contractors, security, and EMT vendors; ensure coverage during events and overnight.
• On-site presence for all San Jose Giants games to ensure operational integrity.

This includes maintaining an inventory of operational assets (ie, tables, chairs, pop-ups, equipment), protecting assets from unnecessary weathering, and budgeting to replace items near the end of their lifespan.Delivering a clean, safe environment, including storage and back of house areas, for fans, staff, and players.Coordinating all required inspections and maintenance contracts as needed (fire suppression system, fire extinguishers, inflatables, security system, etc)General duties include but are not limited to:Pre-event stadium preparation for all games and special eventsEnsuring stadium is cleaned on a year-round basisPre-season preparation and post-season winterizationCoordination with the City of San Jose and contractors to facilitate any stadium repairs and renovationsCoordinate with Security vendor to ensure coverage during events and overnight.Coordinate with EMT vendor to ensure coverage during events and overnight.Oversight of San Jose Giants parking operations and personnelProvide annual repair, replacement and upgrade recommendations regarding stadium facilities and equipment to ballclub leadershipOversight of maintenance for San Jose Giants food and beverage facilities and equipment.Ability and willingness to be on-site for all San Jose Giants baseball games and other ballpark events to ensure operational integrityCommunicate clearly and work well with superiors and fellow employeesOther duties as assignedQualificationsDegree in Sports Management or related field and/or 3+ years experience in an operations role for a professional sports teamKnowledge of basic mechanical and plumbing operationsMust have high attention to detail and take pride in quality of workMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all timesExperience with permitting and code compliance preferredExperience managing events in a sports or entertainment facility preferredFlexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and some holidaysMust be able to engage in strenuous activity including lifting up to 75 lbs.Capable of working in variable weather conditions including extreme heat and rain showers
