Job description

GEICO is seeking an innovative Manager, Experiential & Sports Marketing to join our Integrated Marketing & Media team. This individual will lead the strategy, planning, and activation of GEICO’s sports sponsorships and experiential marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in building and transforming a brand’s go-to-market sports strategy in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Key cross-functional partners include Marketing Insights & Analytics, Marketing Operations, Brand Management, Creative, Corporate Communications, CRM, Influencer Marketing, and Paid Media. Experience with sports marketing agencies is required.

Our department’s hybrid model is 3 days in the office per week, with flexibility. Locations include Chevy Chase, MD; Manhattan, NY; Chicago, IL.

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Sports & Experiential Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee sports marketing programming from brief to execution, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional partners.
  2. Develop and execute GEICO’s experiential marketing strategy, including lead generation, measurement, data ingestion, and consumer event journeys.
  3. Design and implement customer journey touchpoints aligned with business objectives and brand compliance.
  4. Innovatively bring tentpole sponsorships to life, reshaping consumer expectations of GEICO and insurance.
  5. Manage branded content partnerships across the sports ecosystem, including partnership identification, ideation, and media integration.
  6. Redesign GEICO’s local sponsorship framework considering growth objectives and partnership pull-through.
  7. Support multi-year sponsorship and portfolio strategy to drive affinity and acquisition.
  8. Act as a liaison between Sports Marketing and Analytics to evolve deal valuation and measurement frameworks.
  9. Educate organization on sports strategies, audiences, trends, and results.
  10. Analyze sports marketing performance, identify trends, and report KPIs to stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years in sports and experiential marketing, with experience in traditional and non-traditional sports and event partnerships.
  2. Proven success in executing large-scale experiences with market impact, on-time and on-budget.
  3. Experience managing multiple agencies across sports, media, and creative domains.
  4. Ability to operationalize and improve GEICO’s sports marketing processes.
  5. Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong judgment, creative problem-solving, and accountability.
  7. Comfortable in ambiguity and transformational settings.
  8. Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and insights.
  9. Willingness to travel up to 25%, including weekends and off-hours.
