The Role: Manager, Special Content, Q&D Americas
The Team: The Special Content editing team sits within the Americas Quality & Digital (Q&D) team and is responsible for front-line, deep dive editing on our most challenging content; enhancing all content with prices, graphics, hyperlinks; training editors and reporters on content enhancement and the commodity markets angle. Special Content editors also curate Platts flagship oil publications -- Oilgram News and Oilgram Price Report. The manager is responsible for setting the pace and managing team workload, keeping the team motivated and tracking progress on all projects.
The Impact: This critical role leads a team of experienced, senior editors and puts the candidate at the center of content decision making, guiding the team to pivot on day-to-day publishing workflows and to focus on complex stories that require subject matter editing expertise. The role ensures our content meets the demands of our customers -- price and commodity awareness, fluency in market dynamics and visualization of data in easily digestible formats.

- Team goals: Set individual priorities by understanding and balancing group dynamics, reinforcing strengths and balancing workload
- Personal Growth: Achieve Subject Matter Expertise in commodities through individual stretch projects, ideating on content creation, leading showcase content development and execution
- Training expertise: Mentor and coach editors, reporters, analysts on creating high-value content that resonates with customers
- Special Content management: Set process to track data around customer persona; guide specialist editor decisions; make presentations to Senior Leadership for wider discussion
What We're Looking For:Basic qualifications:- Minimum 8-10 years of experience working in a real-time news agency, or Price Reporting Agency or financial news agency/publication
- 3-5 years management experience in leading team of reporters or editors in a typical newsroom environment
- A Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Economics, or Communication/Publishing or Business/and Finance
- Deep understanding of commodity and financial markets, journalistic best practices and media laws
- Prior experience in editing and managing content publication workflows
- Excellent verbal and written English-language skills
- Proficiency in project management, multi-tasking
Preferred qualifications:- Ability to act both independently and as part of a wider global Q&D team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders across different teams, regions and business functions
- Global perspective in executing tasks and implementing projects with inter-divisional/functional stakeholders
- Proficiency in desktop publishing software, different types of content management systems, data visualization and working knowledge of social media posting and publishing is a plus
- Comfortable with implementation and use of LLM tools
- Fluency in Excel, PPT, and good presentation skills are highly advantageous
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI a plus
