Manager, Software Engineering - Runtime Platform

The Runtime Platform team is responsible for building an internal platform for turning Figma files into code to power our future product suite. This platform will support teams building new products that bring designs to various platforms, and teams building shared core primitives for all Figma products. The team will ensure the code’s visual fidelity to the original Figma files, enabling new ways for our customers to bring designs to new platforms.

This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely within the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

• Partner with engineers and peer teams to design and execute strategies for translating Figma files into semantic code.
• Hire, manage, support, and develop a team of engineers, including staff engineers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and project missions.
• Contribute to solving complex technical challenges at Figma.
• Build trust within and across teams by fostering accountability and a positive work environment.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience building and managing teams working on internal JavaScript libraries.
• At least 2 years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Proven leadership in motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers.

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience translating internal data models into code.
• Familiarity with applying code as input to LLMs.
• Knowledge of evaluating AI model output accuracy and performance.

Pay Transparency Disclosure

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub, this role’s annual base salary ranges from $250,000 to $350,000 USD, depending on experience and location. Remote roles are localized accordingly. Compensation includes equity, benefits, and other perks. Details vary by location and are discussed during the hiring process.
