We’re growing rapidly - looking for collaborative, curious, and motivated team members who are passionate about putting customers first. As a remote-first company we believe in empowering our employees to do their best work, wherever they are.

As the data engine for IT and Security many of the biggest names in the most demanding industries trust Cribl to solve their most pressing data needs. Ready to do the best work of your career? Join the herd and unlock your opportunity.

Why You\'ll Love This Role

As the Engineering Manager for the Platform Core Team at Cribl, you\'ll lead the team building foundational technology that powers our products at scale. The Core team supports the scale and reliability requirements needed by both enterprise customers as well as internal engineering teams within Cribl.

You\'ll work with a driven team that balances technical excellence with operational discipline. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you\'ll help shape design decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure we deliver robust distributed systems that run at scale in production. If you enjoy building high-performing teams and solving hard problems, this role is for you.

As An Active Member Of This Team, You Will...

  • Build and grow exceptional teams - Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Deliver with excellence - Drive projects from design to production, with a focus on on-time delivery and high quality.
  • Navigate complexity - Collaborate across engineering, product, SRE, and architecture teams to align priorities, clarify requirements, and deliver outcomes.
  • Champion operational excellence - Establish a culture of observability, reliability, and quality. Ensure systems are built with monitoring, alerting, and operational discipline baked in.
  • Stay technical - Provide hands-on code reviews, architecture guidance, and debugging support. Jump into production issues when needed and identify design problems early

If You\'ve Got It - We Want It

  • 2+ years as an engineering manager or technical lead, managing high-performing teams with systems level knowledge.
  • Strong technical foundation - Prior experience as a tech lead or staff+ engineer building backend systems. You can debug production issues, review complex code, and make sound architectural decisions.
  • Operational mindset - Deep experience running production systems with on-call rotations. You know how to build observable, reliable systems and have managed on-call as an EM
  • Proven team builder - Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers across all levels
  • Collaborative leader - Skilled at working across teams, driving alignment in ambiguous situations, and communicating technical tradeoffs to diverse audiences
  • Systems depth - Strong understanding of Linux, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimizations, with a built-in curiosity to go deeper into the system to understand the “why”.
