Job summary

RTX seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of systems and software engineers responsible for advanced flight display systems used on major Boeing platforms. You will guide the team through design, verification, and certification, while managing cost, schedule, and technical execution.

You will recruit and develop talent across levels, drive innovation, and communicate risks to leadership. This onsite role offers relocation potential and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Experience leading engineering or project teams with cost and schedule accountability.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of 10–15 systems and software engineers through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Recruit, retain, and grow engineering talent from entry-level to highly experienced engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, including bids, planning, design, requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and certification.
  • Manage program cost, schedule, and technical execution, including Earned Value Management responsibilities.
  • Support resource planning and allocation within the engineering organization.
  • Build strong relationships across internal and external customers, leadership teams, and cross-functional groups.
  • Foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
  • Communicate risks, issues, and status updates effectively at multiple levels.
  • Promote a positive, adaptable, and learning-focused team culture.
  • 10% travel as needed.

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team within the Boeing Platforms organization. In this role, you will guide systems and software engineers responsible for developing advanced flight display systems used on major Boeing platforms, including the 737MAX, 747, 757, 767, 777X, and 787. This position provides a unique opportunity to influence current programs and help shape future display system solutions.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
