Position Summary

Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers and provide quality engineering support to programs, IRADs, and new business pursuits in the Weapons Integration &Mission Solutions (WIMS) Business Unit. The position is located in Beavercreek, OH or WPAFB, OH.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Ensure engineering support to programs, IRADs, and new business pursuits.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across multiple organizations.
• Foster the establishment and maintenance of a world‑class Software and Digital Technologies organization.
• Participate in engineering activities related to the InSITE Program and other Northrop Grumman Defense Systems programs.
• Maintain strong communication and ethical standards while mentoring and coaching team members.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering development projects.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering development projects.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience managing the implementation and delivery of sophisticated engineering solutions in support of government customers.
• Previous experience in people or technical leadership roles.
• 85% coverage on an existing direct program, or qualified for an open Northrop Grumman requisition at Beavercreek or WPAFB for a technical engineering role.

Preferred qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Experience leading engineering teams in a matrix‑like organization.
• Experience leading teams using Agile processes and continuous integration / continuous deployment tools.
• Knowledge of AFRL/RI contracting process and procedures.
• Experience working with NASIC, NSIC, AFRL, ACC, or DIA.
• Experience working with multiple subcontractors concurrently.
• Business development and/or proposal experience.

Benefits & Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 – $181,400.00.

Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Employees may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, depending on position.

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel 10% of the time.
