We are relentless in protecting our customers and we believe that the unique ideas of every member of our team contributes to our collective success. Knowing we all have different needs, our development and personal wellbeing programs are designed to give you choice in how you are supported. This includes our FLEXBenefits wellbeing spending account with over 1,000 eligible items selected by employees, our mental and financial health resources, and our personalized learning opportunities - just to name a few!

Your Career

The Xpanse ASM feature teams are expanding, and we’re looking for a Manager, Software Engineer.

Xpanse helps protect some of the world’s most important organizations by finding risks on the Internet that no one else can find. Our product engineering teams are responsible for building the user-facing security products that allow customers to turn trillions of Internet data points into critical cybersecurity insights.

Your Impact

As the manager of a feature team, you will:

  • Support, coach, and develop your team members, ensuring that they are empowered to deliver high output
  • Define and tailor a flexible agile process to the needs of your team, ensuring smooth execution
  • Drive projects from requirements to complete design and implementation, working through project leads and engineers
  • Work with product management, UX, and your team to translate complicated datasets into intuitive user experiences, overseeing your team to successfully deliver on its roadmap goals
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering management leaders to align efforts across the product
  • Utilize your big-picture perspective to spot existing and impending problems, then work with senior engineers and leadership across the department to analyze and solve them
  • Represent your team in departmental roadmap planning and be able to advocate for engineering-driven initiatives that will ensure long term technical success and sustainability
  • Continuously seek ways to make a substantial impact on the broader engineering organization

Your Experience

  • 8+ years of industry experience as a professional software engineer and manager building customer-facing software for a SaaS business, at least two of those years as a manager, providing your team with thoughtful feedback and the resources they need to be successful
  • Significant experience providing technical and managerial leadership of teams building enterprise features on a multi-tenant SaaS platform at scale (examples: role-based access, SAML integrations, feature flag frameworks)
  • Informed opinions about building and maintaining systems handling data at scale, and experience influencing their architecture
  • Deep understanding of Agile development and how it pertains to all aspects of development - design, coding, quality, deployment - equally strong understanding of what to do when Agile doesn't work
  • Ability to balance shipping new products and features with addressing technical debt and investments in architecture and infrastructure
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience or equivalent military experience required
  • Willing and able to work in San Francisco, CA
