Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking a seasoned technologist to lead a team of application architects, leads, and developers. You will coach and guide careers, design scalable enterprise systems, and drive automation with modern software approaches.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience with information/business systems and strong coding practices.
• 4-year degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
• 5–7 years applying custom code development to complex problems in an OO language (Java preferred).
• 3+ years designing and building APIs, microservices, and web applications in a DevOps setting.
• 2+ years building front-end UI SPAs with vue.js, React, or Angular.
• 3+ years designing relational database structures and queries.

Essential Functions

• Set the development strategy, best practices, technical design, coding, and quality standards, using input from appropriate teams.
• Maintain and improve business partnerships, processes, key performance metrics, policies and procedures to a strong level of business satisfaction and service levels, including adherence.
• Manage multiple teams of development and support using both on-shore and off-shore mixed models in a cross functional, agile environment.
• Mentor, coach and facilitate professional development of highly performing team members, providing feedback on indirect reports when necessary.

• Provide technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects, writing comprehensive functional specifications, workflow documents & white papers when necessary.

• Apply proven communication, analytical and problem solving skills to guide and assist stakeholders and developers achieve the expected outcomes and validate the solution fulfills the business requirements.
• Manage some of the largest, complex and most critical system projects for the credit union.
• Maintain awareness of technologies and new solutions available in the market and evaluate relevance for use to support the business strategy.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Manager(s).

Education And Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with Information/Business Systems. 4-year degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years applying custom code development to complex problems in any object-oriented programming language, Java is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years designing and building performance API, Microservices, Console and Web Applications in a DevOps environment.
• Minimum 2 years designing and building front-end UI SPA (vue.js, react, angular)
• Minimum 3 years designing table structures and querying database technology.
• Minimum 5-7 years as an individual contributor with strong understanding of coding best practices.
• Minimum 3 years managing a team and mentoring professionals.
• Experience with custom data integrations using third party APIs.
• Experience in a Financial or Regulated Industry with lending domain knowledge with LOS applications like Temenos is preferred.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment, with strong preference for certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and work with a sense of urgency.
• MuleSoft experience and using script language like python is good to have.

Target Compensation: Min $131K - Max $157K annually + annual bonus

Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8-5pm
