Lead One of the Nation's Premier Pediatric Sleep Programs

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking an innovative and collaborative Sleep Center Manager to lead operations at our growing West Campus Sleep Lab in Houston, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the nation's largest pediatric healthcare organizations and play a key leadership role in expanding access to pediatric sleep services across our system.

The Sleep Center Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operational performance, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and strategic growth of the Sleep Center. The successful candidate will partner closely with physician leaders, respiratory therapy, nursing, and ambulatory operations teams to support a high-performing, patient-centered sleep medicine program.

About the Program

The West Campus Sleep Center is one of the largest pediatric sleep programs in the region and is currently undergoing strategic growth initiatives, including expansion toward full 7-day operations, enhanced patient access, and continued investment in sleep medicine services. The manager will have the opportunity to lead transformational initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and accreditation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and continually monitors QA standards.
  • Monitors employee performance in accordance with established department and IDS guidelines.
  • Manages daily operational activities.
  • Supervises daily procedure schedule by reviewing initial appointment schedule, accepting, and prioritizing add-on and inpatient requests.
  • Adjusts workload to changes in schedule.
  • Monitors and orders supplies.
  • Ensures the safe and proper functioning of all equipment.
  • Interacts with vendors; participates in the selection, testing, and application of new instrumentation.
  • Provides patient care.
  • Provides direct supervision of the technical staff.
  • Represents clinic and technical staff when responding to needs and concerns) Provides and coordinates staff education.
  • Provides strategic leadership for program growth in Sleep Lab Expansion and programmatic growth.
  • Participates in various IDS projects as appropriate.
  • Attends continuing education workshops, seminars, and in-services and fulfills all mandatory education requirements as documented on the staff development register.
  • Strives to achieve the goal of accreditation with commendation through the following:
  • o Ensures that JCAHO requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understands the linkage between your department’s requirements and those of the integrated delivery system.
  • o Collaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all JCAHO requirements are met.
  • o Ensures that AASM requirements are tracked, reported, and met for the department.
Skills & Requirements
  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Required RPSGT - Reg Polysomnographic Technolog by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
  • Required 5 years of technical experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience of technical personnel and general laboratory management
