Job Description

NBC Universal’s Enterprise Technology Site Reliability team enhances system reliability via standardization and automation, ensuring platform availability. We use data-driven approaches to identify and prioritize reliability efforts, minimize toil, and reduce failure costs, supporting a diverse portfolio of brands.

The ServiceNow Platform Development Manager will lead the development and execution of our SRE ServiceNow platform roadmap, managing the software development lifecycle, and ensuring agile delivery of high-quality products and platforms. The role requires strong expertise in ServiceNow Agile Development, DevOps, Data Analysis, and ITSM principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions aligned with business goals.
• Manage and mentor a team of developers and engineers.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional growth of team members.
• Establish coding standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for system enhancements and upgrades.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for platform performance and reliability.
• Translate product requirements into technical specifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices and performance standards.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and manage operational support activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of ServiceNow experience, including ITSM, ITAM, SecOps, GRC, TPRM.
• 5+ years leading software or application development teams.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, workflows, and integrations.
• Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, Glide) and frameworks (HTML, CSS, AngularJS).
• Understanding of CMDB, Asset Management, Incident, Problem, Change Management.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and integration tools.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Excellent communication skills, self-driven, adaptable, and capable of building cross-functional relationships.

Desired Characteristics

• Leadership skills in technical and organizational contexts.
• Experience with large multinational corporations.
• Relevant ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Implementation Specialist, System Administrator).
• Experience with App Engine Studio, Delegated/Citizen Developers, and automation tools like Ansible and Puppet.

Additional Requirements

• Fully remote position, contributing from a non-NBCUniversal site, typically a residence.
