Job summary

AstraZeneca is hiring for a Facilities & Maintenance leader to ensure campus‑critical systems operate 24/7 for cGMP‑related infrastructure. You will drive preventive/predictive maintenance, optimize PM programs, and lead a high‑performing team to deliver projects on scope, budget, and schedule.

You will manage utilities, BMS monitoring, CMMS (SAP), and KPI‑driven improvements while coordinating with planning, purchasing, and other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Facilities Management.
  • Experience with maintenance software, AutoCAD, and other specialized programs used in operations.
  • Maintenance leadership on sophisticated, cGMP‑related infrastructure with 24/7 reliability expectations.
  • Strength in utilities, BMS monitoring, CMMS (SAP), planning/scheduling, and KPI‑driven improvement.
  • Experience delivering facilities capital projects and managing vendors/contracts.
  • Proven safety, cGxP/FDA compliance, and quality systems ownership.
  • Track record in investigations (RCA/CAPA) and team development.
  • Strategic influence across departments with budget, schedule, and policy accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Keep campus‑critical systems running through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; respond to BMS alarms 24/7.
  • Build and optimize PM programs, follow KPIs, and lift uptime and asset health.
  • Partner with Planning and Scheduling; drive accurate CMMS data and effective work execution.
  • Set stocking and reordering strategies to protect reliability.
  • Lead facilities capital projects from plan to handover—on scope, budget, schedule, and sustainability targets.
  • Oversee reviews, permitting, commissioning, and collaborator communications for safe delivery.
  • Source, debate, and lead vendors/contracts to ensure quality and value.
  • Ensure cGxP/FDA compliance; handle changes, deviations, and training/qualification.
  • Lead root cause analyses; champion SHE, hazard assessments, and PPE.
  • Cut carbon, waste, and cost; optimize energy and resources with partner teams.
  • Coach technicians, engineers, and contractors; build capability and cross‑functional ties.
  • Contribute to site planning, procedures, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics; brief senior stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigations and safety: Lead root cause analyses; champion SHE, hazard assessments, training, and PPE.
  • Sustainability and CI: Cut carbon, waste, and cost; optimize energy and resources with partner teams.
  • People leadership: Coach technicians, engineers, and contractors; build capability and strong cross‑functional ties.
  • Site stewardship: Contribute to site planning, procedures, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics; brief senior stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience (5 years) may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Facilities Management.
  • Experience with maintenance software, AutoCAD, and other specialized programs used in operations.
  • Maintenance leadership on sophisticated, cGMP‑related infrastructure with 24/7 reliability expectations.
  • Strength in utilities, BMS monitoring, CMMS (SAP), planning/scheduling, and KPI‑driven improvement.

  • Managing multi‑contractor environments and long‑term service agreements.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $89,874.40 - $134,811.60. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
