Job summary

CPKC is hiring a Construction Manager to oversee wayside projects, including installation, testing, and repair of signals and communications equipment. You will lead a field-based team, ensure safety standards, and maintain project timelines across our DM&E territory in the Lacrosse area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong S&C knowledge, and prior leadership experience. A driver’s license is necessary; travel is extensive.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Signals and Communications (S&C) equipment and principles.
• Knowledgeable on S&C standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Previous leadership and managerial experience.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Are you a proactive problem-solver who thrives in dynamic, field-based environments? We’re seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and mentor a team dedicated to installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing wayside equipment, all while maintaining the highest safety standards. In this crucial leadership role, you’ll ensure the seamless and safe movement of trains and equipment throughout our DM&E territory.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid drivers license
• Proficient knowledge of Signals and Communications (S&C) equipment and principles
• Knowledgeable on S&C standards and regulatory requirements

• Previous leadership and managerial experience

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
