Position Summary

This Manager, Security has a Commitment to Excellence in guest service, while providing necessary safety and security support to guests visiting the PPG Paints Arena. This position will oversee shift Guards related to the 24-hour venue security (Command Post, Gates and Rear Yard).

This role will pay an annual salary of $73,000 and is bonus eligible.

About the Venue

As a leading entertainment venue,PPG Paints Arenais the regional epicenter for athletic events, concerts, and family shows in Western Pennsylvania, and home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

Responsibilities
  • Provide security for incident response and risk assessments.
  • Assist with policies and procedures for safety and security protocols at the venue.
  • Ensure all building security systems are operating as necessary during event and non-event periods.
  • Security systems include, but are not limited to, cameras and access control, as well as physical security equipment.
  • Manage Building Security Officers working 12-Hour Shifts.
  • This position may be required to relieve shift guards as necessary for breaks or leave.
  • Create written reports associated with event incidents or personnel actions.
  • Deliver superior guest service while ensuring proper building and governmental protocols are being followed.
  • Manage requests for assistance from staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)
  • Ensure all safety and building guidelines are being followed, and proper security checks are conducted during guest entry.
  • Oversee the control and safety of all guests that visit the facility.
  • Ensure crowd control stays at a reasonable level and assist in emergency situations and conflicts as needed
  • Interact with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Provide direct assistance, as needed, by being knowledgeable about locations throughout the facility.
  • Provide professionalism, courtesy, and respect to all guests and fellow employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
  • Ability to work daylight, evening, overnight, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises employees in the Security Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with OVG360 policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Hours are 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Day) and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Night)
