What you get to do:
As a Security Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall execution of our security operations, including the direction of all of our security officers, off-duty law enforcement officers, special events staff and security dignitaries. This role involves recruitment, development, evaluation, training and performance management, while ensuring team members maintain relevant certifications/licenses. You will direct/conduct investigations, complete case preparation and court presentations, and represent park in court as needed. Success in this role requires that you develop and maintain positive partnerships with all levels of outside law enforcement. You will:
- Create or implement security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches.
- Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
- Monitor and ensure a sound, ethical environment.
- Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
- Develop, implement, manage, or evaluate policies and methods to protect personnel against harassment, threats, or violence.
- Develop, conduct, support, or assist in governmental reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments of the overall effectiveness of facility and personnel security processes.
- Train subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures.
- Assess risks to mitigate potential consequences of incidents and develop a plan to respond to incidents.
- Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
- Direct or participate in emergency management and contingency planning.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Previous military, law enforcement or security experience.
- Experience in loss prevention and investigative procedures.
- Related Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three or more years of supervisory/management experience within a theme park, entertainment, hospitality, or other guest services related industry.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
- State license(s) and applicable certification(s).
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws desired.
What else is important:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes.
- Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals.
- Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
