Job summary

Northwell is seeking a Security leader to manage 24x7 operations for hospital campuses. You will supervise security staff, oversee access control and CCTV systems, and collaborate on budgets and strategic planning to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant licenses, and 6–8 years of experience with 2–5 years in leadership. This on-site position offers responsibilities across multiple facilities and budget accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• NYS security license/armed guard license with pistol permit or equivalent private investigator/police certification.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience and 2–5 years of leadership/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to Security team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals aligned with the health system.
• Manages Security staff and oversees daily administration of access control and CCTV integration.
• Maintains the employee database containing access information for all new hires and terminations.
• Monitors staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
• Assists in development of budgets and monitors expenditures to stay within budget.
• Guides staff in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting department services to achieve quality and cost outcomes.
• Participates in the development of a strategic plan for the future of security operations.
• Performs related duties as required.

Job Description

Manages, plans, organizes, and coordinates the 24x7 Security staff and operations. Ensures protection and safeguarding of hospital property, personnel, patients and visitors; participates in administering Performance Improvement Program. Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff.

Job Responsibility

• Provides leadership to Security team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
• Manages Security staff, coordinates, and oversees the daily administration of the electronic security access control the health system, which includes perimeter doors, circuitry alarm the health systems, panic alarm activation and the integration of multiple CCTV’s.
• Maintains the employee database containing access information for all new hires and terminations.
• Participates in establishing goals and objectives to ensure an efficient operation of the Security operations.
• Implements programs to achieve goals and maintain budgetary compliance.
• Participates in development of budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure operation within budget limitations.
• Guides staff in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting department services resulting in positive service, quality and cost outcomes.
• Monitors and coordinates work assignments and staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
• Participates in the development of a strategic plan for the successful future of the security operations.

Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• License to practice as a Security Guard in New York State OR NYS Armed Security Guard license AND NYS Pistol Permit (in geographical area of employment and residence), required. OR NYS Private Investigator License AND NYS Pistol Permit (in geographical area of employment and residence), required. OR Active NYS Police Officer Certification, required.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership/ management experience, required.
