Shape the Future of Financial Reporting in a High-Growth Medical Cannabis Company

Our client, a rapidly expanding and innovative leader in the medical marijuana industry, is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager with deep technical accounting expertise and a passion for precision. In this newly created role, you'll be at the forefront of financial transparency and compliance in one of the most dynamic, fast-evolving sectors in the U.S.

This is a high-impact opportunity to lead all aspects of U.S. SEC reporting, technical accounting, and compliance efforts—while helping drive the company’s growth and integrity in a highly regulated environment. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping internal processes, guiding complex accounting decisions, and working closely with leadership to meet both financial and strategic goals.

Ideally, this role will sit near any of these cities: Wakefield MA, Las Vegas NV, Stamford, CT, Phoenix AZ, Miami FL.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and manage timely, accurate U.S. GAAP financial statements and SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
  • Research, evaluate, and document complex technical accounting issues, including new accounting standards, business combinations, leases, equity/debt transactions, and restructurings
  • Oversee the administration and accounting of stock-based compensation and capitalization activities, including Black-Scholes valuations
  • Lead annual goodwill and impairment testing
  • Partner with external auditors, SEC counsel, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to support audits, compliance reviews, and due diligence
  • Support SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and operational teams to align financial reporting with business strategy
  • Report to the Head of Corporate Accounting and work closely with the CFO and executive team

What We’re Looking For

  • CPA (or equivalent) with 4+ years of technical accounting experience, including a foundation in public accounting (Big 4 or Top tier 2 preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Proven experience drafting technical accounting memos and managing external audits
  • Experience in a public company, with hands-on exposure to SEC filings
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes without the need for micromanagement
  • Prior experience in a regulated industry is a plus—cannabis, biotech, pharma, or financial services
  • Familiarity with tools like Workiva or Active Disclosure is a bonus

Why Join Us

  • Be a financial leader in a mission-driven, fast-scaling company in one of the most exciting industries today
  • Play a central role in shaping financial systems, policies, and reporting from the ground up
  • Work with passionate, forward-thinking professionals committed to wellness and compliance
  • Enjoy competitive compensation, benefits, and real opportunities for growth

Ready to bring your financial expertise to a company making a real impact in healthcare and wellness? We’d love to hear from you.
