Job Title: Manager (RN) - Operating Room, Main

Join us to apply for the Manager (RN) - Operating Room, Main role at Tucson Medical Center.

Description

The Main OR has 14 Operating Rooms, including: 2 Endovascular rooms, 2 Open Heart rooms, 1 Cysto room, 1 da Vinci Robot room, and 1 Pediatric room. Services offered include: General Surgery (Adult and Peds), ENT (Adult and Peds), Urology (Adult and Peds), Vascular, Thoracic, Heart, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, and Oral Surgery. The OR operates 24/7. Pre-Op Holding (POH) staffing is Monday through Friday from 0530-1930, and on-call on Saturday and Sunday from 0645-1500. PACU is staffed 24/7 with on-call support for surgeries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of OR Nursing Leadership experience in a high-volume setting.

Summary

Manages a nursing unit or a nursing specialty function such as Bed Control or Restorative Services.

Essential Functions

  • Staff management: interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and delegation.
  • Assisting in managing department budget.
  • Designing and implementing staffing plans based on acuity and workload.
  • Monitoring patient acuity and staffing through productivity reports and adjusting as needed.
  • Ensuring a safe environment that complies with all regulatory standards.
  • Developing unit-specific standards of care with measurable outcomes.
  • Orienting medical staff to Nursing Services.
  • Supporting case management activities to promote continuity of patient care.
  • Investigating patient complaints and incidents, initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintaining customer service standards and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and evaluating educational programs for staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of relevant nursing or healthcare experience, with demonstrated leadership and professional development.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Arizona and BLS certification; additional certifications as required.
